On July 18, 2025, Masuda Funai hosted its first Benkyo Kai seminar in Novi, Michigan, launching the educational series, Understanding Unique U.S. Workplace Laws. The session, “Key U.S. Employment Structures and Anti-Discrimination Laws Every Expat Should Know,” was conducted entirely in Japanese and tailored for Japanese expatriates working in the United States.
The program was led by a U.S. employment attorney who provided practical guidance using real-world litigation examples, cases involving Japanese companies, and direct comparisons between U.S. and Japanese employment practices. The interactive, small-group format encouraged active discussions among the 19 participants, most of whom were C-suite executives and senior HR leaders.
The event began with a light lunch, followed by an interactive presentation in which attendees posed questions throughout, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
