Michael Bedell is a skilled real estate lawyer with experience handling a myriad of real estate transactions and commercial matters, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of retail centers and office buildings throughout the U.S. In his practice, Mike reviews, drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, leases and financing documentation, in addition to providing Real Estate due diligence support for corporate transactions. He is committed to facilitating the real estate objectives of the firm’s clients.

Mike is a Member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and he is a frequent author on commercial real estate topics. Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as in-house counsel for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) that owns and manages retail properties throughout the country. In that capacity, he served as lead counsel on acquisitions and sale of retail centers and office buildings. He also prepared a wide range of documents in connection with commercial real estate transactions including deeds, bills of sale, assignments of leases, guaranties, escrow agreements, lease extensions, license agreements and estoppels. Early in his career, Mike was a real estate associate with the Chicago office of a global law firm.

Advised foreign-owned water treatment technologies manufacturer on real estate matters related to the $23 million acquisition of a competitor.

Negotiated a lease for office and warehouse space in Arlington Heights, Illinois for an automotive components manufacturer.

Handled a $2.4 million financing of a cannabis manufacturing and warehouse facility in Lompoc, California.

Advised a client on its investment in a joint venture formed to acquire and operate a 100-unit apartment building in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Assisted client with its $1 million investment in a joint venture formed to acquire and operate a retail outlet mall in Little Rock, Arkansas.
