Joji counsels business clients regarding employment agreements of all types, as well as advises on strategic planning and the creation and implementation of risk-reducing employment and personnel policies, particularly those involving hiring, termination, wage and hour issues, discrimination and harassment. In addition, he assists clients in obtaining immigration classification visas for employees and executives, individuals and professionals, and permanent residency and labor certification. An experienced commercial real estate attorney, Joji represents clients on both the acquisition and sale of commercial real property. He also reviews, drafts and negotiates commercial leases for office, industrial, warehouse and retail properties.

At every turn, Joji puts the needs of his clients first. Born in the Philippines and raised in Japan, Australia, Thailand and the U.S., Joji is both bi-lingual and bi-cultural. Joji’s Japanese-owned business clients value his innate ability to serve as a critical link — from a cultural, business and legal perspective — to doing business in the U.S. Joji has conducted seminars for members of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Chicago and the Japan Business Association of Southern California. He has also conducted in-house seminars and tutorials at the request of clients and on their premises on such topics as discrimination, harassment and other employment issues; legal strategies for Japanese companies operating in the U.S.; issues affecting expatriates living in the U.S.; and the role and duties of corporate officers and directors.

Prior to joining the firm, Joji spent six years as both an Associate and Partner at the Chicago and Los Angeles offices of one of the largest global law firms in the U.S., where his practice focused on corporate and financial transactions law.
