Founded by Thomas Masuda in 1929, Masuda Funai has grown to over 40 attorneys in three offices, located in downtown and suburban Chicago and Los Angeles.

Our practice focuses on representing international companies operating and investing in the United States. Over the decades, we have developed an insight that allows us to better understand and address the unique needs and opportunities these clients face. Whether the clients are small corporations locating in the U.S. for the first time or established, global entities, we have the knowledge and experience to represent them successfully. We assist clients in every aspect of business, including establishing, acquiring, financing and selling operations and facilities; transferring overseas employees to the U.S.; hiring and managing employees from different countries; and structuring the distribution and sale of products and services throughout the U.S.

Our broad client base spans many different industries and technologies. We represent leading manufacturers and distributors of automotive parts, machine tools, printing presses and electronics. Other clients include financial institutions; transportation and construction companies; professional service organizations; computer and technology companies; and suppliers of food, household and outdoor goods.
